Purpose of the Grievance Committee for the 10th Judicial Circuit
Every judicial circuit in Florida, and there are 20, has a grievance committee. You can think of the grievance committee as a grand jury for the conduct of lawyers across each judicial circuit.
The committees is comprised of a mix of lawyers and non-lawyers alike who evaluate whether a complaint against a lawyer, submitted to them by bar counsel, has grounds. If they find that there is probable cause that the professional rules of conduct, as outlined by the Supreme Court of Florida, were violated, they will then determine whether the lawyer should be disciplined.

Mr. Humphries earned his juris doctorate from Stetson University College of Law and has been a partner in private practice for more than ten years. His primary focus is personal injury, auto accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents and wrongful deaths.
