Professional Experience
Joseph W. Brown, II serves as Of Counsel to López & Humphries, P.A., bringing nearly two decades of litigation experience to the firm’s personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death practice. A seasoned trial attorney, Joseph has represented clients throughout Florida in hundreds of cases involving catastrophic injury, negligence, criminal defense, and complex civil disputes. His broad litigation background gives him a comprehensive perspective on case strategy, client advocacy, and navigating high-stakes matters from intake through trial.
Before joining the firm as Of Counsel, Joseph served as Managing Attorney of Dominion Law, P.A., where he oversaw litigation teams, developed discovery and trial strategies, and represented clients in mediations, hearings, and jury trials. He began his legal career with the Office of the Public Defender in Tampa, trying cases in felony, misdemeanor, juvenile, and drug court divisions. During his time there, he trained at the Florida Public Defender College, earning recognition as Best Advocate in his group.
In addition to his work in the courtroom, Joseph is deeply committed to education and community leadership. He serves as Senior Pastor of Faith Celebration Church in Lakeland and has taught Christian Theology, Ethics, and Ministry Practicum as an Adjunct Instructor at Southeastern University. His academic leadership includes directing the Paralegal Studies Department at Everest University, where he supervised faculty, authored departmental operating procedures, and coordinated academic compliance and student support strategies.
Joseph earned his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, where he received numerous honors, including the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award, a full merit scholarship, and selection as Vice-President of the Student Bar Association. He was active on the Moot Court Board, serving on the William E. McGee Civil Rights Team and earning the Best Brief Award. He also received the Florida Rural Services Dan Bradley Fellowship and captured first place in the 2003 Mercer/ABA Client Counseling Competition. Joseph holds a B.A. in Instrumental Music from Florida A&M University and is currently completing his Doctor of Ministry at Southeastern University.
Joseph is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and has served the community through multiple leadership roles, including as a board member with the West Central Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes and as Presiding Bishop of the North American Outreach Fellowship. His combination of seasoned litigation experience, academic depth, and pastoral leadership gives him a unique ability to guide clients with both skill and compassion.
